    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

LONDON 19 June 2023 – Sentro Rizal London, in collaboration with the Knights of Rizal (KRI) Area of UK and Ireland, and Kababaihang Rizalista Inc. (KRI) London, commemorated the 162nd birth anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal on 18 June 2023.

The program commenced with the singing of the National Anthem followed by my opening remarks and a wreath laying ceremony at the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal. Flowers were also offered by the officers and members of the KOR, KRI and Embassy personnel.

Ambassador personally extended his appreciation to APO Metropolitan England for its Palamig sa Tag-init sa Pasuguan, an annual food and drinks sharing with consular applicants during the hot summer season. Its winter counterpart, Pa-kape sa Pasuguan, is also undertaken annually by APO Metropolitan England. Consular clients enjoyed the refreshing drinks while savoring a variety of Filipino kakanin and other sweet treats.

Ambassador Locsin welcomed Secretary Alfredo Pascual of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to the Philippine Embassy  in London today. Secretary Pascual is in the UK to promote the Philippines as an attractive investment destination to overseas investors.

 Myla Arceno, the first Filipino Mayor of Stevenage, England, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Locsin at the Embassy today and presented an artwork depicting bayanihan, a fundamental aspect of Filipino culture wherein the community works together to achieve a common goal. Mayor Myla is a cardiac rehabilitation physiotherapist in the NHS.
