REACQUISITION OR RETENTION OF FILIPINO CITIZENSHIP
Step 1: Prepare two (2) complete sets of the following documents:
- Duly accomplished petition form click here
- Philippine birth certificate
- Marriage certificate (for married applicants)
- Death certificate of spouse (for widow/ers)
- Philippine passport data page (most recent)
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Foreign passport data page
- 5 coloured photos, 4.5 x 3.5
Derivative reacquisition/retention (if applicable):
Include two (2) complete sets of the following documents of the minor child:
- Philippine birth certificate or foreign birth certificate
- Philippine passport data page (most recent)
- Certificate of Naturalization (if applicable)
- Certificate of Registration as foreign national (if applicable)
- Foreign passport data page
- 5 coloured photos, 4.5 x 3.5
Step 2: If the name of the applicant in his/her birth certificate or other documents submitted is different from his/her foreign passport and other documents, the applicant shall execute an affidavit explaining such difference, and attach as supporting documents at least 2 public or private documents showing the correct name of the applicant.
Step 3: Submit the documents, personally or by mail to the Consular Section (Attention Citizenship Reacquisition Section), Philippine Embassy, 6 Suffolk Street, London SW1Y 4HG.
If submitting personally, applicants may walk in between 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Mondays to Fridays, to submit their application.
If submitting by mail, include a postal money order (UK residents) in the amount of £46.00 for the principal and £23.00 per dependent, if applicable, payable to the Philippine Embassy London.
Step 5: Wait for notice from the Philippine Embassy on the action on the petition. If the petition has been approved, the Embassy will give the applicant an appointment for his/her oath-taking.
Step 6: Appear in person on the date and time of appointment.
Step 7: Take the Oath of Allegiance. A consular officer will administer the oath.
Step 8: Receive your original Identification Certificate, Order of Approval, and Oath of Allegiance.

- Applicants are encouraged to wear business or smart casual attire for the oath-taking.
- Include the contact details of the applicant (email, mobile number, landline number) in the application, for ease in coordination.
- The Consular Section encourages applicants to submit their application in person to ensure the completeness and sufficiency of the submitted documents.
