    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

Ambassador and Mrs. Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. join Bicol United UK and devotees of Our Lady of Peñafrancia in the UK at a Mass in celebration of the Feast of Our Lady at the Carmelite Church in London. 
 
This year’s celebration is special as it marks the 100th Anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of the Miraculous Image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. 
 
The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Ernie Montuerto OCD, with Fr. Theddy Ekuma OCD, Fr. John Williamson OCD, and Fr. Richard Magararu.

 More than 40 Filipino nurses who came from all over the UK attended the Philippine Embassy in London's special tribute for Filipino nurses in the childhood home of Florence Nightingale in Derby, England.

In his remarks, Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.  said he cannot think of a better place to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Filipino nurses than the place where the legacy of nursing excellence was born. He recalled that when he presented his credentials as PH Ambassador to the UK, King Charles III conveyed the deepest gratitude of the United Kingdom for Filipino nurses, who carried the nation through the most trying times during the pandemic.

Filipino actress and singer Rachel Alejandro, in the UK for her concert tour, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Locsin at the Embassy today. She was accompanied by her manager Girlie Rodis.

Fil British Christina Dela Cruz Chalk

Newly Crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2024, Christina Dela Cruz Chalk, called on Ambassador Locsin today. Raised in Scotland by a Filipino mother, Christina will represent Great Britain at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico in November.
