The Philippine Embassy in London joined the entire Filipino nation in the observation of September as Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) with a visit to the Royal Museums of Greenwich.
The visit included the National Maritime Museum, which contains the world’s largest maritime library and archive collection; the Cutty Sark, a British clipper ship built in 1869 and one of the fastest ships of its day; and the Royal Observatory which has a collection of John Harrison’s groundbreaking clocks that helped revolutionize the ability of ships to accurately determine their longitude.
