The Philippine Embassy in London will continue its #PurpleWednesdays for the month of March in celebration of National Women’s Month. Everyone, regardless of gender, is encouraged to wear purple on the remaining Wednesdays of March to show solidarity with women around the world, and to signify support for women’s empowerment and gender equality.

08 March 2023 - Philippine Embassy personnel gathered to celebrate International Women’s Day on 08 March 2023 at the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal. The women and men of the Embassy donned purple clothing to signify support for women’s empowerment and gender equality in line with the new overarching theme “WE for gender equality and inclusive society.” The Embassy will continue its #PurpleWednesdays for the rest of March in observance of National Women’s Month. #WEcanbeEquAll |

National Women's Month Symposium
In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Department of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) is inviting everyone to the event entitled “Legacies and Standpoints: Filipino Women in Multilateralism.”
The kick-off program is a symposium highlighting the status and “her-story" of women in multilateralism. The symposium will pay tribute to the first lady senator of the Republic, Senator Geronima Tomelden-Pecson, an outstanding trailblazer who was instrumental in the creation of UNACOM and the first Filipina to be a member of the UNESCO Executive Board in 1950.
