    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

 Myla Arceno, the first Filipino Mayor of Stevenage, England, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Locsin at the Embassy today and presented an artwork depicting bayanihan, a fundamental aspect of Filipino culture wherein the community works together to achieve a common goal. Mayor Myla is a cardiac rehabilitation physiotherapist in the NHS.

In collaboration with the Knights of Rizal Area of UK and Ireland and Kababaihang Rizalista Inc. London, the group offered flowers at the bust of Rizal and took turns inscribing on a scroll verses of Dr. Rizal's poem "Ang Awit ni Maria Clara".

ATLL meets Irish

Ambassador Locsin met Irish Ambassador Martin Fraser at the Embassy of Ireland yesterday, in anticipation of his presentation of credentials to President Michael D. Higgins as non-resident Philippine Ambassador to Ireland. Among other things, the two discussed the close cultural ties that bind the Philippines and Ireland together.
