Philippine Embassy in London Honors Dr. Jose Rizal
LONDON 03 January 2024 – The Philippine Embassy in London paid solemn tribute to Dr. Jose Rizal in its commemoration of the 127th anniversary of his martyrdom at Sentro Rizal London on 29 December 2023. In attendance at the commemoration were officers of the Knights of Rizal (KOR) Area of United Kingdom and Ireland and Kababaihang Rizalista, Inc. (KRI)– London, and some members of the Filipino community.
The program commenced with the singing of the National Anthem followed by Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.’s opening remarks and a wreath laying ceremony at the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal. Flowers were also offered by the officers of KOR and KRI and members of the Filipino community.
In his remarks, Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. emphasized that the commemoration is not so much of Dr. Rizal’s death but of the birth of our nation. His writings, particularly, ”Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo,” catalyzed a sense of national identity before our nation was born.

Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. Presents His Credentials to Irish President Michael D. Higgins
Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. brought greetings from President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and the Filipino people when he presented his credentials to President Michael D. Higgins of Ireland today. President Higgins expressed his sincere appreciation for the contributions of the Filipino community in Ireland to Irish society.
Philippine Embassy in London Hosts Annual Gathering of Filipino Students
LONDON, 14 December 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in London held its annual year-end reception for Filipino students in the UK at Tollgate Gardens Community Centre, London, on 12 December 2023, attended by about 80 guests. Also in attendance were several non-Filipinos learning the Filipino language.

Philippine Embassy in London Holds “END VAWC: Legal and Law Perspectives” Enforcement
The Philippine Embassy in London held a seminar entitled, “END VAWC: Legal and Law Enforcement Perspectives,” in support of the “18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women” celebrated annually in the Philippines from 25 November to 12 December.
The seminar, held at the Sentro Rizal London, focused on UK laws regarding violence against women, as well as practical tips on keeping safe in the city.
Metropolitan Police members of Filipino descent led the discussion on situational awareness and safety tips, and provided information on the most common crimes affecting women and girls in the UK. Solicitor Crystal Dias provided information on the relevant statutes that protect women and girls from domestic abuse and other forms of violence. The seminar allowed for a free exchange of ideas and participants engaged in the lively discussion.
