UPDATES ON THIS SERVICE
- Due to physical distancing measures being implemented, civil registry documents / applications may either be submitted in person (by APPOINTMENT only) or by POST (each copy of the application form must be notarised by a public notary).
- Applicants who wish to submit their requirements in person must also bring with them a printed copy of their confirmed appointment during their visit to the Philippine Embassy.
- For health and safety reasons, we only accept payments via card or contacless. Cash payments will not be accepted at the moment.
- Only those with confirmed appointments will be allowed to enter the Embassy premises to avoid overcrowding.
- Collection of documents will only be done by post in strict compliance with physical distancing measures being implemented. All applicants must submit a self-addressed, stamped, special delivery envelope with tracking number together with their documentary requirements.
- Incomplete submissions will immediately be returned to the applicant or destroyed through a secure process in compliance with relevant data protection laws
The marriage of Filipino citizens in the United Kingdom or Ireland must be registered with the Philippine Embassy no later than one year after the date of marriage.
The Report of Marriage is equivalent to the Philippine Marriage Certificate/ It will be sent by the Embassy to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the Philippines’ foremost civil registry authority. Authenticated copies of the Report of Marriage printed on security paper may be obtained from PSA for future consular transactions.
A Report of Marriage may be filed in person or by post/mail. If sent by post / mail, each copy of the application form must be notarised by a public notary. Applicants who are filing their civil registry reports by post / mail may opt not to includ the original supporting documents in their submission.
Requirements:
- A confirmed appointment booked via VFS Global Services (Book here) [applicable only for those who are filing the report in person]
- Four (4) accomplished Report of Marriage forms, filled out online and printed, or printed and accomplished using a pen with black ink. All entries must be written in block letters and clearly legible. All four (4) copies must be signed by both parties and not just photocopied. If sent by post, copies must be notarised by a notary public.
- Original and four (4) copies of the British / Irish Marriage Certificate
- Four (4) photocopies, data page of the wife's valid passport
- Four (4) photocopies, data page of the husband's valid passport
- Supporting documents (if applicable):
- If the Report of Marriage is filed after at least one (1) applicant has been naturalised as a foreign citizen:
- Original and four (4) photocopies, Certificate of Naturalisation
- Original and four (4) photocopies, Philippine citizenship documents:
- Oath of Allegiance
- Order of Approval
- Identification Certificate
- If the Report of Marriage is filed more than one (1) year after the marriage:
- Four (4) copies of the Affidavit of Delayed Registration of Marriage
- If the Filipino spouse is a widow/er at the time of the marriage:
- Original and four (4) copies of the Death Certificate/s of previous spouse/s
- Original and four (4) copies of the Marriage Certificate with the previous spouse.
- Original and four (4) copies of the PSA-issued Birth Certificate of the applicant.
- If the Filipino spouse has had a previous marriage annulled or a foreign divorce recognized in a Philippine Court:
- Original and four (4) copies of the annotated Philippine Marriage Certificate for the dissolved marriage (See also Judicial Recognition section)
- If the Report of Marriage is filed after at least one (1) applicant has been naturalised as a foreign citizen:
- Processing fee (see table below)
- Applications filed by post / mail must be paid via POSTAL MONEY ORDER (UK residents) or BANK DRAFT (Ireland residents).
- Payee must appear as PHILIPPINE EMBASSY LONDON
- Special delivery envelope with pre-paid postage paid up to 100g (available at the post office. Click to view a sample)
- Do not forget to write you name and complete delivery address on the 'to' field. We will use this to send you back your signed civil registry document by mail.

*Applicants from Ireland who are sending their documentary requirements by post must pay the relevant processing fees through a bank draft payable to the Philippine Embassy in London.
Steps (for applications submitted in person):
- Book an appointment here.
- Prepare all the necessary requirements and supporting documents.
- Visit the Philippine Embassy and proceed with the following steps:
- Submit complete sets of your requirements and supporting documents to the processor.
- Pay the processing fee at the cashier.
Important Reminders:
- A confirmed requirement is required for all applicants who wish to submit their documents in person.
- Other documents may be required as circumstances warrant.
- If the report is filed by post or mail, do not send us the original supporting documents.
- The Embassy accepts applications for the Report of Marriage from couples married in another country apart from the United Kingdom and Ireland. The Report of Marriage forms and other requirements will be sent to the Embassy or Consulate which has jurisdiction over the place of the marriage. Applicants for this type of service needs to visit the website of the concerned Embassy or Consulate for information on other documents that may be required. Applications of this kind will have a longer turn-around time as documents are sent through the diplomatic pouch.
