    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

The Philippine Embassy in the UK’s virtual celebration of the 123rd Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence on 11 June 2021 continues to be lauded for acknowledging and honouring the vital roles and the sacrifices of Filipino nurses and other health care workers and seafarers during the pandemic.

Among the numerous complimentary messages received by the Philippine Embassy in London are the following:

The Philippine Embassy informs the public of the following updates on existing travel restrictions to the Philippines:

  • Foreign nationals holding Special Resident Retiree's Visas (SRRV) are nallowed to enter the Philippines without need of an entry exemption document.  SRRV-holders are advised to directly contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. regarding all matters on enterting the Philippines.
  • The issuance of all 9a single entry visas valid for three (3) months shall continue to require an entry exemption document from the Department.

All international flights bound for Mactan-Cebu International Airport shall be diverted to the Ninoy Aquino International Airpot in Manila effective 0001H 29 May 2021 until 2359H 5 June 2021.

Philippine Flora Poster for 28 Ma02y

 

One day left until you see the beauty of Philippine flora at the online exhibit entitled, "Philippine Flora: An Online Botanical Art Exhibition" which will run from 29 May 2021 until 29 June 2021 at https://philippineflora.cargo.site/.

The exhibit is a collaboration between the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Botanical Art Society. The virtual exhibit opening is on May 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. (PH time) via Zoom and will be broadcast on the DFA's official YouTube channel (https://youtu.be/XxBtsvvXJN4. ) and Facebook page. The online art exhibition, after "Flora de Filipinas", an iconic and comprehensive book about the flora of the Philippines by Father Manuel Blanco, features botanical artworks of Philippine endemic and indigenous flora by Filipino artists.

"Philippine Flora: An Online Botanical Art Exhibition" aims to create awareness about the rich biodiversity of the Philippines, specifically endemic and indigenous flora species. Being one of the megadiverse countries in the whole world, the Philippines takes pride in its more than 10,000 native flora species; fifty percent of these species are endemic, meaning these can only be found in the Philippines.

Apart from reviving the botanical art form in our country, it is the advocacy of the Philippine Botanical Art Society to educate and connect our fellow Filipinos to our native flora by rendering these beautiful species through botanical artworks. In parallel, it aims to raise awareness about these species’ conservation status since most of these are endangered.

"Philippine Flora: An Online Botanical Art Exhibition" is a side event to the Department of Foreign Affairs' event "Fiesta Filipinas: An Online Celebration of Philippine Festivals" which will feature the Flores de Mayo on 29 May 2021, 10:00 a.m. via the DFA's official YouTube channel and Facebook page.
