PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN LONDON CELEBRATES BUWAN NG WIKA
Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo led the celebration of Buwan ng Wika by the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom with activities highlighting the Philippine national language.
The Embassy held a “Kuwentuhan sa Sentro Rizal Ngayong Buwan ng Wika” wherein language learners among the Filipino youth in the UK took turns in reciting/reading the fable “Si Pagong at Si Matsing” by Dr. Jose Rizal.

Philippine Embassy in London Coordinates Flight of Filipinos Evacuated from Afghanistan through the UK
London, 24 August - Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom Antonio M. Lagdameo today sent off at the London Heathrow Airport a group of 22 Filipinos evacuated from Afghanistan to the UK on British military flights since last week. The group departed the UK this afternoon via a Philippine Airlines flight which is due to arrive in Manila on 25 August.
Ambassador Lagdameo joined the 22 Filipinos in thanking the UK for its invaluable help in the Philippine Government’s efforts to repatriate Filipinos from Afghanistan.
Philippine Volcanoes Rugby Team Pays Courtesy Call on Ambassador Lagdameo
Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo welcomed to Sentro Rizal London the Philippine Volcanoes Rugby Development Team, the only foreign team participating in the London International Rugby Sevens Tournament.
Congratulating the team for placing 3rd overall at the 7s tournament in Cheltenham, Ambassador Lagdameo presented the team with a Philippine flag and some Philippine items.
Ambassador Lagdameo expressed the Embassy’s support for the Philippine Volcanoes’ aim to raise the profile of the Philippines as a global force in the sport of rugby and recruit a large base of players who could feed national teams.
The Philippine Volcanoes won a Gold Medal at the SEA Games in the Philippines in 2019. Their goal is to get a medal finish at the Asian Games in 2022 and qualify for the World Cup of Sevens in 2022.
The Philippine Volcanoes welcomes new players as young as seven (7) years old.
