Dan Carden MP

Ambassador Locsin welcomed Dan Carden MP to the Embassy today where they had friendly and honest discussions on inter-parliamentary relations and the Philippines-UK bilateral relationship. The Embassy looks forward to working with Dan to further strengthen its engagement with Parliament.

FIrst UK Parliament Mr. Tony Vaughan MP

Ambassador Locsin was delighted to meet Tony Vaughan today, the new MP for Folkestone and Hythe. Tony is the first Member of Parliament of Filipino heritage and the Embassy is incredibly proud of his achievement. Congratulations, Tony!

Ambassador Locsin received a delegation from the University of the Philippines Los Baños Museum of Natural History and Masungi Georeserve Foundation on 25 July 2024. The delegation is in London to donate a collection of rare purple jade vine (Strongylodon juangonzalezii) seeds to Kew Gardens in London. This marks the first time that the said plant will be grown outside the Philippines.

The purple jade vine is a specie endemic to the tropical forests of the Philippines. Also known as JC’s vine, the plant climbs and coils up forest canopies, usually in secondary growth forests, with flowers blooming in clusters, transforming from vibrant lilac to electric blue as the plant matures.

10th Session IMO Subcommittee

 Members of the Philippine delegation to the 10th Session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Subcommittee on the Implementation of IMO Instruments paid a courtesy call on Ambassador and Permanent Representative Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. yesterday.
