Filipino Artists Shine in Birmingham’s New Musical Showcase
Kudos to Filipino artists Dominique La Victoria and Melisa Camba for their new musical, This Is My Name, which was recently showcased at the Birmingham Hippodrome.
This Is My Name is a one-woman show that centers on Filipino writer and feminist, Señora Maria del Rosario Gil y Montes de Sanchez, a figure during the Spanish era in the Philippines. It depicts a story of love and defiance through poetry and songs.
The outstanding theatrical performance of Melissa complemented the show’s original music composed by both artists.
