    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Department of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (UNACOM) and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan through the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) is inviting everyone to the event entitled “Legacies and Standpoints: Filipino Women in Multilateralism.”

The kick-off program is a symposium highlighting the status and “her-story" of women in multilateralism. The symposium will pay tribute to the first lady senator of the Republic, Senator Geronima Tomelden-Pecson, an outstanding trailblazer who was instrumental in the creation of UNACOM and the first Filipina to be a member of the UNESCO Executive Board in 1950.

The event will be livestreamed on 10 March 2023 at 1:00 pm Philippine time (5:00 am GMT) through the DFA Youtube and Facebook channels (https://youtube.com/live/PRZuTN_zkO8).

 

 

The Philippine Embassy in London informs the Filipino community in UK and Ireland that the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI), has announced that the nomination for the 2023 Bagong Bayani Awards is now open.

The Bagong Bayani Awards or BBA is a worldwide search for the country’s outstanding and exemplary overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). There are five (5) award categories, namely Bagong Bayani Award for Outstanding Employee, Community and Social Service, Culture and Arts, Capt. Gregorio S. Oca Achievement Award, and the Blas F. Ople Award para sa “Natatanging Bagong Bayani.”
