    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

ATLL meets HC TK Lim

Today, Ambassador Locsin met Singaporean High Commissioner Lim Thuan Kuan who warmly welcomed him to London. They discussed a range of topics including defense, trade and regional cooperation.

Former British Ambassador to the Philippines and current Chair of the Philippine-British Business Council (PBBC) Peter Beckingham called on Ambassador Locsin today. They discussed ways in which to strengthen trade and business ties between the Philippines and the UK, among many other topics.

Ambassador Locsin met Rob Roberts, MP for Delyn, Wales, and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Philippines (APPG-PH), at the Embassy today where they had a lively discussion on inter-parliamentary cooperation, among many other topics.

The Philippine Embassy in London concludes its #PurpleWednesdays activity with this last set of profiles from gender and development advocates from the community.

 #PurpleWednesdays highlights the new recurring theme from 2023 to 2028: “WE for gender equality and inclusive society”.

Ms. Jamaica Paula Belmonte is a graduating university student. She believes that a more gender-equal and gender-inclusive society can be attained through ensuring gender representation in the decision-making process, especially on matters related to education, healthcare and workplaces.

She adds that, “It should not be about how masculine or feminine a person is for a certain job. It should be about how capable a person is, regardless of their gender.”
