    The Philippine Embassy, London joins the nation in celebrating National Innovation Day (NID) 2025 on 28-30 April 2025 with the theme “FLIP” Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines”. This year’s NID aims to (1) inspire the youth by engaging them in an intensified “Huddle, Analyse, Build, and Innovation” thinking workshop, (2) elevate public awareness on Filipino ingenuity and creativity through the holding of National and Regional Innovation Awards or the “Filipinnovation Awards”, and (3) honour Filipino innovators of “Filipinnovators” who have made significant contributions in promoting and advancing  innovative solutions in their respective fields.

Brenda Deocampo

Ambassador Locsin today received Filipino nurse Brenda Deocampo, one of King Charles' inaugural birthday honors recipients, at the Embassy.
 
Brenda, Lead Nurse Manager for Acute Medicine at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire medal for her excellence in managing the admitting ward for COVID-19 at Charing Cross Hospital. This, despite her husband, also a nurse at the same Trust, being hospitalized in the intensive care due to COVID. During the pandemic, she and her husband also started a voluntary pastoral group for the Filipino nursing community at the Trust that helped ensure the wellness of nurses and develop their resilience.
 
Ms. Deocampo attributes her success to the unique cultural upbringing and heritage of Filipinos, particularly in the importance and care that Filipinos extend to the family and their community.

International Coffee Organization Executive Director Vanusia Nogueira paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Locsin at the Embassy today to discuss the possibility of PH signing the new coffee agreement this September in India.

Representatives of Philippine real estate developer SM Development Corporation (SMDC), led by Vice President for Sales Ms Ana Lyn V. Carpio, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Locsin today.
