The flowers of May are in full bloom! Bask in the summer sun and enjoy the vibrance of Filipino talent and creativity as the Philippine Embassy in London takes you on a virtual tour to see the magnificent Manila on this episode of #FiestaFilipinas on 29 May 2021, 3:00 a.m. GMT.
The fifth leg of Fiesta Filipinas will showcase the annual Flores de Mayo festival held all over the country every month of May. Through the “Santacruzan,” which is the parade held during this festival, you can witness the beauty and grace of the community as Filipinos are not only able to show their devotion but also their artistic flair through the intricately designed gowns and parade decor.
The virtual tour brings you to the country’s capital, Manila, wherein the old meets the new in the city where continuous reinvention and restoration brings out the beauty and history of the city.

The “Fiesta Filipinas: An Online Celebration of Philippine Festivals” project is a six-part, multi-format online event series from December 2020 until June 2021, which will simulate the experience of a festival through a combination of live and pre-recorded videos and live workshops and activities. The project aims to introduce and showcase Philippine festivals, culture, and traditions to our global audience and invite them to the country when conditions are more favorable.
The project is organized by the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine Embassy in London in cooperation with the Department of Tourism and National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

Travel Advisory | Testing and Quarantine Protocols Starting 8 May 2021
The following testing and quarantine protocols shall apply to all passengers arriving in the Philippine starting 0001H of 08 May 2021:
- Mandatory 14-day quarantine
- All international arrivals are required to undergo a facility or hotel quarantine for up to ten (10) days upon arrival
- COVID-19 testing to be conducted on Day 7 (Day 1 is the arrival / check-in date)
- International arrivals may continue their quarantine at home or in their hotels (as the case may be) from Day 11 up to Day 14, provided the result of the RT-PCR test is NEGATIVE

Press Release on Filipino-born poet Romalyn Ante’s book
The Philippine Embassy in London congratulates UK-based nurse Romalyn Ante on the shortlisting of her debut poetry collection, Antiemetic for Homesickness, for the 2021 Book Of The Year Jhalak Prize!
Romalyn migrated to the UK from the Philippines at 16 years old when her mother, an NHS nurse, brought the family to the UK.
Antiemetic for Homesickness explores migration, nursing, a sense of fracture, and healing. Published by Chatto & Windus/Penguin Random House, the book was also named Poetry Book of the Year 2020 by the Irish Times and the Poetry School. Romalyn’s book is available at several major bookstores such as Waterstones, WH Smith, Foyle and on Amazon and Kindle.
