8 September 2015 - Ambassador Enrique A. Manalo met with some members of the House of Commons to discuss the essential contributions of Filipino seafarers to the UK's fishing and fish processing industries and to find avenues for further cooperation to ensure the seafarers' welfare. The meeting at the Houses of Parliament was joined by some MPs from Scotland and Nothern Ireland, namely: Calum Kerr, MP for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk; Eilidh Whiteford, MP for Banff and Buchan; Brendan O'Hara, MP for Argyll and Bute; and Margaret Ritchie, MP for South Down. Also in attendance were Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul General Senen Mangalile; Deputy Consul General Myla Macahilig, and POLO OIC Esperanza Cobarrubias.
