LONDON, 14 December 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in London held its annual year-end reception for Filipino students in the UK at Tollgate Gardens Community Centre, London, on 12 December 2023, attended by about 80 guests. Also in attendance were several non-Filipinos learning the Filipino language.

In his remarks, Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. welcomed the students to the yearly gathering organized by the Embassy, which is both a get-together and an acquaintance party aimed at providing an opportunity for Filipino students in the UK to get to know one another and network.  The Ambassador reminded the students that they are not just studying in the UK, but are also on a cultural exchange mission. He looked forward to more interaction between the Embassy and the Filipino student community in the UK.

Following the program and games, everybody partook of a salo-salo of Filipino Noche Buena favorites such as lechon, arroz a la Valenciana, bibingka, hot chocolate, pan de sal with ham, ice cream, among others. The guests also received gift bags with Filipino snacks.

London-based Filipino musical group, Freeway Band, provided entertainment with their rousing rendition of holiday and Filipino songs. END
