An Identification Certificate (IC) is one of three Philippine citizenship documents issued to successful applicants immediately after the administration of the Philippine Oath of Allegiance.  If you reacquired your Philippine citizenship before September 2007, you will need to request for a copy of your IC from the Philippine Foreign Service Post where you took oath as a Filipino citizen.

If it is your first time to apply for an IC, here's what you need to do:

Post / mail the following requirements to The Citizenship Division, Philippine Embassy, 6 Suffolk Street, London SW1Y 4HG:

Requirements:

  • Two (2) copies, completed and signed RA 9225 Application Form (download here)
  • Two (2) photocopies, Oath of Allegiance
  • Two (2) photocopies, Order of Approval
  • Two (2) photocopies, data page of latest Philippine passport
  • Five (5) pieces, passport-size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) coloured photographs with white background
  • Processing fee, GBP 23.00
    • The processing fee must be paid via POSTAL MONEY ORDER (for UK residents) or BANK DRAFT (for Ireland / Isle of Man / Jersey / Guernsey residents)
    • PAYEE must appear as PHILIPPINE EMBASSY LONDON
  • Special delivery envelope and pre-paid postage paid up to 100g (available at the post office. Click to view sample)
    • Do not forget to write you name and complete delivery address on the 'to' field. We will use this to return your document by post / mail

Steps

  1. Post / Mail a complete set of documentary requirements to the Citizenship Division, Philippine Embassy, 6 Suffolk Street, London SW1Y 4HG.
  2. Visit the Philippine Embassy on the date provided by the Citizenship Division.  The Citizenship Division will email applicants to confirm that the request has been processed and to provide possible appointment dates to appear in person at the Philippine Embassy in order to complete the process.
  3. During your visit, affix your signature and fingerprints on the Identification Certificate.

Processing time: 15 working days from the date the documents are received by the Philippine Embassy

 

Important Reminders:

  • The personal appearance of applicants is required to complete this process.
  • Incomplete requirements will be returned to the sender. In the event that no specil delivery envelope is enclosed to facilitate the return of the documents, the documents will be destroyed through a secure shredding process in compliance with relevant GDPR laws.
