Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. Led the Recent Launch of the Exhibit “Philippine Textiles: PastFuturePerfect” at Sentro Rizal London
Eleven (11) exquisite fabrics, each woven with precision and artistry by weavers from 10 Philippine language groups, are on display. The weavers are Ilocano brother and sister tandem Logelin Agosto Quional and Ian Dela Cruz of Santiago, Ilocos Sur; Allan Tumbukon of Kalibo, Aklan; Teresita Obngayon of the Itneg community of Abra; Ifugao weavers Divine Balangto Calingayan with the Kiyangan Weavers Association; Yakan weavers Naira Analyn and Nasra Unda; Tagalog embroiderers Ferlyn Malala and Dory Nitro of Taal, Batangas; Tboli ikat dyer Lahim Tinggal Lungan; and Saadira Shiek Basmala, Meranaw tapestry weaver.
The special exhibition, presented by the Philippine Embassy in London and the Philippine Studies at SOAS University of London, runs from 08-26 November 2024.

The Philippine Embassy celebrates the exceptional talent of the Filipino performers of Songs for a New World, which was staged at the National Centre for Early Music in York, England, on 24-26 October 2024. Ayana Beatrice Poblete, co-founder of AKA Theatre Company, has a Master of Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Leeds Conservatoire, while Mikhail Lim studied theatre at York St. John University.

Ambassador Locsin apprises the Filipino community in Blackpool, England, of the initiatives and priorities of the Philippine Government under the Bagong Pilipinas program during a town hall meeting held at the Blackpool Council chamber at the Blackpool Town Hall. The Ambassador was warmly welcomed to the Blackpool Town Hall by officials led by Mayor Peter Hunter, Mayoress Anne-Marie Hunter, Leader of the Council, Councillor Lynn Williams, Armed Forces Champion, Major Councillor Adrian Hoyle, and Cabinet Member for Communities and Wellbeing Councillor Jo Farrell.
