21 March 2023 - Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. today presented his open Letter of Credence to Ms. Victoria Busby OBE, Director of Protocol and Vice Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) at the Lancaster House.

Today Ambassador Locsin paid an introductory call on Minister of State for the Indo Pacific Anne-Marie Trevelyan at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). They discussed practical ways to enhance Philippines-UK relations and strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as defense, maritime, and energy security. Ambassador Locsin also thanked Minister Trevelyan for the UK's donation of AstraZeneca vaccines to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and for honoring the hard work of Filipino healthcare workers in the UK.

 

 The Philippine Embassy in London continues its feature on our kababayans who wear purple on Wednesdays in celebration of National Women’s Month.

This activity highlights the new recurring theme from 2023 to 2028: “WE for gender equality and inclusive society”.

 Wear purple on 29 March and have a chance to be featured in the Embassy’s social media pages for #PurpleWednesdays!

Ms. Charity Schofield has been in the UK since 2003. She shared her experience in working at a field dominated by men, “I used to work for our family business. It was quite physical, considered a man’s field, but I was able to do my job well. So I think women and men should be given the same opportunities in their careers. They should be given an opportunity to try out a job and decide later on whether they prefer that job or another based on their capabilities and interests.”

Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. led London PE in his first flag raising ceremony as Ambassador of the Philippines to UK and Ireland on 20 March 2023 at Sentro Rizal London. The Ambassador then presided over his first executive committee meeting with Embassy officials.
