Ambassador Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. met with the officers of the Filipina Women's Network (FWN) at the Embassy, where he was presented with the latest book, "Disrupt 5.0: Filipina Women Leading with Intersectionality," in the Filipina Leadership Book Series by a FWN delegation led by CEO/Founder of the Foundation for FWN Marily Mondejar and Stevenage Councillor Myla Arceno. Cllr Myla was recently confirmed as FWN Ambassador to the UK during the book launch and reading of Disrupt 5.0 at SOAS University of London.

LONDON, 26 March 2025 - The Philippines donated $40,000 to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for its technical cooperation training and capacity building activities and the voluntary multi-donor trust fund for financial support to developing countries. Philippine Permanent Representative to the IMO, H.E. Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr., presented the donation to Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez on 26 March 2025 at IMO Headquarters in London.

The donation was coursed through the Integrated Technical Cooperation Program (ITCP) of IMO’s Technical Cooperation and Implementation Division (TCID). It will be used to fund training on the implementation of the IMO’s Strategy for the Reduction of Green House Gas (GHG) Emissions from Shipping, such as development of seafarers’ training and skills programs, among others. Intended beneficiaries of the training will be personnel from relevant government agencies, from interested countries. The donation can also be used to fund the travel of delegates from developing countries, particularly from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs), so they may participate in-person in IMO GHG meetings.

Haraya Choir

 Ambassador Teodoro Locsin, Jr. proudly welcomed the award-winning Haraya Choir to the Embassy today. Officially formed in 2017, the choir has performed in a number of prestigious venues and events in the UK and won 1st prizes at the North Wales Choir Festival (Pop and Mixed Choir categories) in 2022 and the grand prize at the Manchester Amateur Choir Competition in 2020. 

Most of the choir members are nurses and staff from the NHS/healthcare sector, united by their passion for singing and musical excellence.
