27 June 2019 LONDON—The Philippine Madrigal Singers Alumni and the Haraya British Filipino Choir dazzled the audience during a reunion concert at the historic St. John’s Smith Square on 23 June 2019.

The Haraya Choir, led by their founder and conductor Karlene Moreno-Hayworth, who was a soloist of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, performed ecclesiastical pieces such as ‘Take and Receive’ and ‘Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel’ as well as Filipino songs such as ‘Anak’ and ‘Kruhay.’ On the other hand, the Philippine Madrigal Singers Alumni and Friends performed a repertoire composed of pieces such as ‘What a Wonderful World’, ‘Bahay Kubo’, and ‘Rosas Pandan,’ among others. Both choirs jointly performed two songs such as ‘Man in the Mirror’ and ‘L’important c’est la rose.’

“The choirs’ performance was a true testament to Philippine excellence in performing arts,” said Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo. “The concert was a shining moment for all Filipinos.”

A day before the concert, the Philippine Madrigal Singers Alumni conducted a master class and workshop led by Philippine Madrigal Singers Alumni Choirmaster Emmanuel Miranda at the Umbrella Rooms in Shaftesbury Avenue, London. END
