22 November 2018 LONDON—Philippine single-origin chocolates from South Cotabato are adding an extra oomph to the delectable selection of croissants at Pophams, a cozy artisan bakery and café in London. Pophams’ Philippine chocolate-infused pastries are available on weekends in its Islington shop.

Estela Duque, founder of Moulinet Chocolat Limited introduced Philippine chocolates to Pophams owner Ollie Gold with the vision of tickling the taste buds of chocolate lovers in the United Kingdom. Since then, it has now become a regular weekend fixture in one of London’s favourite artisan cafes.

Moulinet Chocolat Limited is a UK-based social enterprise that strongly advocates for fair trade and ethical trade for all workers involved in the production of chocolate.

“The time is ripe for the world to enjoy Philippine chocolate,” said Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo. “We’re proud to support people like Estela who are with us in sharing to the rest of the world all the good and delicious things that the Philippines has to offer.

Philippine chocolates have been winning distinctions in the UK, particularly from the Academy of Chocolate. This year, four Philippine chocolate brands were judged among the best in the world in their respective categories. END
