10 September 2018 LONDON--Ambassador Antonio M. Lagdameo presented his credentials today as Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to IMO Secretary General Kitack Lim at the IMO Headquarters in London.

Ambassador Lagdameo expressed his readiness to participate in the work of the IMO towards promoting safety and sustainability in the global maritime industry.

"As a major contributor of seafarers to the world's maritime fleet, the Philippines will continue its active participation in the great conversations happening at the IMO, with emphasis on the human aspect of the industry," he said.

Secretary General Lim acknowledged the contribution of the Philippine delegation to the IMO at various levels of engagement and welcomed Ambassador Lagdameo's return at its helm.

"We look forward to the Philippines' greater involvement to IMO's work under your leadership," Lim said.

Deputy Permanent Representative Senen Mangalile and Alternate Permanent Representative Emma Sarne joined Ambassador Lagdameo at the ceremony. END
