The Philippine Embassy in London held a free Zumba and mental health seminar for OFWs on 12 March 2023 at the Tollgate Gardens Community Center in Kilburn, London. The event, spearheaded by the Migrant Workers’ Office (MWO)-Overseas Workers’ Welfare Administration (OWWA) London, had over fifty (50) participants. Dubbed “We Juana Be Healthy,” the event highlighted a two-pronged approach to wellness --- the physical and the psychological.

The first part of the program was led by Zumba instructor Mr. Gerry Agustin, who coached the participants in a two-hour Zumba session. The latter part of the program was facilitated by Mr. Edwin Dela Cruz, Lead Nurse for Education and Workforce Development at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Mr. Dela Cruz discussed common stress triggers and practical ways to manage and overcome stressful situations. The event was capped with a healthy lunch for the participants and facilitators.
