Registered overseas voters residing in the UK and Ireland will cast their votes for the May 2022 Philippine National Elections by post or mail. This means that ballots will be posted to the UK / Ireland address indicated by the registered voter on his or her voter records around a month before the national elections take place in the Philippines. Hence, it is important to make sure that details such as your current address is updated to make sure that you receive your voting kit on the expected date.

You do not need to appear personally at the Philippine Embassy to update your voter records. Below are the steps and requirements on how you can do this online. These guidelines are determined and enforced by the Philippine Commission on Elections (COMELEC). Registered voters have until 14 October 2021 to update their voter records.

What You Need to Know:

  • If you have been naturalized as a foreign citizen, you will need to reacquire Philippine citizenship first before you are eligible to vote during Philippine elections. The right to vote during Philippine elections is a Constitutional right afforded solely to Filipino citizens.

Requirements:

  • Completed, signed, and scanned iRehistro form
    • Complete the form through this link.
    • If you encounter problems completing the iRehistro online form, you may also manually complete the form by downloading it through this link.
  • Scanned copy of the data page of the voter's valid Philippine passport
  • Supporting documents:
    • For dual citizens (via RA 9225): scanned copy of either Order of Approval or Identification Certificate

Steps:

  1. Complete the online iRehistro form.
  2. Print and sign the completed iRehistro form.

    • Scanned copy, completed and signed iRehistro form
    • Scanned copy, data page of valid Philippine passport
    • Scanned copy of supporting documents
      • For dual citizens (via RA 9225): scanned copy of either Order of Approval or Identification Certificate

What happens next:

  • After COMELEC receives the request to update the voter's records, COMELEC-OFOV will directly contact the voter to schedule a videoconference with the voter in order to verify his or her identity and to administer the voter's oath.
