COVID-19 Special Advisory | Temporary Suspension of Visa Issuance and Visa-Free Privileges
In light of Proclamation No. 929 dated 16 March 2020 Declaring a State of Calamity throughout the Philippines due to COVID-19 and of Proclamation No. 922 Declaring a State of Public Health Emergency throughout the Philippine dated 08 March 2020, the Philippine Embassy informs the public that:
- The temporary suspension of visa issuance is effective immediately while the temporary suspension of visa-free privileges will take effect on 22 March 2020. Foreign spouses and children of Filipino nationals are exempted from this temporary suspension;
- The travel restriction has no impact on foreign crew members; and foreign nationals who are already in the country or holders of visas issued by other government agencies;
- Foreign nationals with visas previously issued by any Philippine Foreign Service Post such as the Philippine Embassy in London will not be allowed entry into the country starting 22 March 2020;
- The visas previously issued to accredited Foreign Government and International Organization officials and their dependents will remain valid and will be honored when entering the country even after the said date. The same is true for previously issued visas to foreign spouses and children of Filipino nationals.
The public is informed that the Bureau of Immigration (BI) will not allow entry starting 22 March 2020 to holders of visas that are BI-issued or BI-regulated, and to visa-free nationals, pursuant to DOJ-BI issuances.
The support and cooperation of the public in stopping the spread of COVID-19 and safeguarding public health is greatly appreciated.
COVID-19 Special Advisory: Postponed: Dual Citizenship Oath Taking
In line with the measures taken to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to safeguard the health of our clients and personnel alike, we regret to inform the public that all Dual Citizenship Oath Taking ceremonies starting Friday, 20 March 2020 will be postponed until further notice.
We will get in touch with all petitioners once new schedules have been determined.

COVID-19 Special Advisory: Postponed: Manchester Consular Outreach
In line with the measures taken to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to safeguard the health of our clients and personnel alike, we regret to inform the public that the Consular Outreach Mission in Manchester scheduled on 18 April 2020 will be postponed until further notice.
All appointments made for this outreach will be honoured once a new date will be determined.
